Sony Reveals the 20th Anniversary Edition PS4

Today, Sony revealed a PS1-themed PS4 in celebration of the console’s 20th Anniversary.

Designed with the original Grey finish, the 20th Anniversary Edition comes with a DualShock 4 controller, a stand to mount the PS4 vertically, and a PlayStation camera.

The console,limited to 12,300 units, not only sports the original logo, but is etched with “20” and the iconic button symbols.

In a post on the PlayStation Blog, Shuhei Yoshida, the president of Sony’s game studio division Wrote “Sony Computer Entertainment, founded by my mentor Ken Kutaragi, was a project borne out of sincere passion and deep admiration for the craft of game development.”

Yoshida continued “The mid ’90s were an exciting time for game developers, driven by the explosion of powerful but affordable 3D graphics rendering hardware and the birth of many young and adventurous development studios. The original PlayStation was meant to embody that sense of adventure and discovery, that sense that anything was possible.”

Pre-orders will begin in the U.S. and Canada  December 6.
